Photograph an ID card and auto-fill a registration form, built on a zero-cost open-source vision pipeline — OpenCV pre-processing into Tesseract OCR, with parsing logic mapping the text to the right fields.

FPV freestyle quads I build and tune myself, and the parts I design in Fusion 360 and print on my Creality when the off-the-shelf version keeps breaking. Each print below went through several iterations — open one to orbit every version.
Three quads I built and fly — two freestyle and one set up for racing — each running 3D-printed parts I designed myself.
One of my FPV freestyle quads, built by hand and shown here finished — a RunCam camera in my own purple 3D-printed mount, a Mamba F405 stack and TBS Crossfire on a carbon frame, with a glimpse of the bench build.
A different freestyle quad, finished and ready to fly — Velox 2207 motors, tri-blade props and green printed soft-mounts on a carbon frame. When an off-the-shelf part keeps breaking, I design a replacement in Fusion 360 and print it on my Creality.
The one I built to race — a light 5-inch quad on XING-2 Pro motors and a carbon frame. The grey top mount and camera housing are my own prints; the top part shares the design of my Fusion 360 upper mount. It flies fast and clean — only the blue antenna and VTX holders are printed parts I didn't design myself.

Photography is not a side note for me — it is where I practise the same patience good engineering needs: waiting, framing, and pressing the shutter on the one instant most people miss. I chase the frames that only exist for a few seconds — the right light, the exact moment, the composition that will not come again.

On 12 August 2026 I set up for the partial solar eclipse at sunset and waited for the one instant the crescent sun sat low and burning red over the ridge — a composition that existed for only a few seconds and, shot this way, nowhere else. SRF chose that photograph as the lead preview image for their nationwide feature “Die schönsten Bilder der Sonnenfinsternis” — the frame that represents the whole article whenever it is shared.
It is the kind of shot I build the rest of my photography around: technical when it has to be, but really about being in the right place, ready, at the only moment that counts.
Run
I run long distances — several half-marathons and marathons, and currently training toward the SwissCityMarathon. It is the counterweight to sitting at a keyboard.

Design and deliver the annual General Assembly presentations, handle event photography and image editing for the club website, and built an Outlook-based automation for mass member mailing without external tools.

Built and ran Kassenwart, the tool that replaced the committee's shared spreadsheet, then handed the data over cleanly when the club merged.
